BUBT Economics Club Successfully Hosts ‘Economic Research Fest 2026'

The BUBT Economics Club of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) successfully organized the “Economic Research Fest 2026,” culminating in a grand finale and award-giving ceremony held on 8 February 2026 at 1:30 PM at the university’s Conference Hall at BUBT. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and academic prominence.

The initiative was undertaken with the objective of fostering research interest among young students and enhancing their analytical and creative thinking in the field of economics. After a rigorous preliminary screening process, the shortlisted teams advanced to the final round, where they presented their research papers and data analyses. The distinguished panel of judges evaluated the presentations based on originality, analytical depth, and economic relevance before announcing the final results.

Professor Dr. Syed Masud Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, BUBT, attended as the Chief guest Guest, while Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Chairman of the Department of Economics, BUBT, was present as an Honorable Guest.

Special guest speech was delivered by Professor Dr. Mahboob Ali, Department of Economics, BUBT. At the outset of his speech, he expressed sincere appreciation to the BUBT Economics Club and emphasized the importance and significance of research in academic and professional development.He also overwhelmeed by the new comers talent and he emphasized on Practicum.He saw victory sign for QS ranking,and said documentation is the most important role. Addressing the students, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hassan as guest of honour encouraged them to actively participate in future initiatives like the Economic Research Fest - 2026 and underscored the need for continued engagement in research activities.

Professor Dr. Syed Masud Hossain as chief guest highlighted the practical applications of economic research and shared valuable insights drawn from his professional experience, providing guidance and inspiration to the participants.

In the concluding session, Professor Dr. Syed Masud Hossain, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, and Professor Dr. Mahboob Ali presented certificates of recognition to the winning teams. Dr.Ummey Habiba,Mr.Tareq Ibn Zahid also spoke on the event.The event concluded on a high note, enriched by the tireless efforts of the BUBT Economics Club members and the vibrant participation of students. The club authorities reaffirmed their commitment to organizing the Research Fest on an even larger scale in the future before formally declaring the program closed.Total under 8 groups 24 students participated.Besides,young stdents 49 intake also perform well.MSc Economics students and BSc economic students are very much vibrant as on 7th February on Internatinational conference on " AI,Banking,and Research " where an academician Dr.Yasheda Durgue,India from India virtually joined who was very happy to see the performnce of the economics students and Ms Tanisha Kundu,AI specialist spoke on AI revulation and what Bangladesh academia can do as guest of honour.
