Bangladesh University of Business and Technology is proud to highlight the outstanding academic and research leadership of Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, a distinguished professor in the Department of Economics and a renowned expert in economics, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven development.

With more than two decades of experience in higher education, economic research, institutional development, and thirteen years of professional banking experience, Professor Ali represents the excellence and innovation that define BUBT. His academic journey includes a Post Doctorate in Entrepreneurial Management from Naresuan University, Thailand, a Ph.D. in Macroeconomics from the University of Chittagong, and an M.Phil. in Financial Economics from the University of Dhaka.

Professor Ali’s expertise spans macroeconomics, financial economics, entrepreneurial economics, research methodology, and IT sector development. His unique blend of academic scholarship and practical banking experience has enabled him to contribute significantly to research on macroeconomic policy, financial systems, digital transformation, and sustainable development in emerging economies.

A prolific scholar and researcher, Professor Ali has published over 185 peer-reviewed articles in reputed national and international journals and has authored several authoritative books on economics, finance, and entrepreneurship. His research contributions have appeared in internationally recognized journals and publications by Springer Nature, Elsevier, Emerald, IGI Global, and Nova Science Publishers.

In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Ali has held several prestigious leadership roles, including Vice Chancellor, Dean, Department Chairman, Director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell, and Founder Programme Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Economics. He currently also serves as an academic auditor at the Bangladesh Accreditation Council. His editorial and professional engagements further reflect his global academic influence, serving as editor, editor-in-chief, and editorial board member of numerous international journals, including several Scopus-indexed publications.
